📢 National Centre for Writing Translation Residency (Deadline: March 17)

LTI Korea, in partnership with the National Centre for Writing (NCW), is pleased to announce an exciting translation residency opportunity for one experienced literary translator working from Korean to English. The residency will take place at Dragon Hall in Norwich from Monday, July 7 to Saturday, August 2, 2025.
Residency Focus: The residency aims to provide dedicated time to translate in the serene surroundings of Norwich, enhancing focus and creativity. Detailed information about Norwich UNESCO City of Literature and planning your visit can be found on the NCW website.
Accommodation: The translator in residence will stay in the Dragon Hall cottage, part of the Dragon Hall campus, home to the National Centre for Writing. The cottage features:
- A sitting room, study, kitchen, and bathroom downstairs
- Two bedrooms upstairs
- A small terrace leading to the Dragon Hall garden
Residency Activities:
- Translation Project: Work on the translation project outlined in your application.
- Mentorship: Receive peer feedback and career advice from a UK-based mentor, an experienced literary translator working in a different language combination.
- Networking: Connect with local writers and literary translators at the Dragon Hall Social, a monthly networking event.
- BCLT Summer School: Attend plenary sessions at the BCLT summer school, held at the University of East Anglia campus in 2025.
- Walking Norwich Series: Write a reflective piece for NCW's Walking Norwich series.
- Publicity: Be featured on the NCW Instagram and in the newsletter.
