1st round - Document screening

Eligibility

  • Applicants from language groups that are more than three times the recruitment quota.
  • If the number of applicants is less than three times the recruitment quota for a language group, the document screening will be waived.

Evaluation criteria and scoring

The following will be evaluated based on the applicant's application form and self-introduction letter

Interest and ability in translation 50 points
Interest and literacy in Korean literature and/or cultural content. 50 points

Results

  • Candidates will be selected in descending order of high scores within 3 times the number of spots available
  • Applicants with a score below 70 will be disqualified, even if they are within 3 times the number of availible spots.

2nd round - Written test

Evaluation criteria and scoring

Korean language proficiency and literary knowledge required to interpret the provided text and translation ability into the target language will be evaluated against the following standards

Results

  • Candidates will be selected in descending order of high scores within 1.5 times the number of spots available
  • Applicants with a score below 70 will be disqualified, even if they are within 1.5 times the number of availible spots.

3rd round - Interview

Evaluation criteria and scoring

Korean language proficiency and literary knowledge required to interpret the provided text and translation ability into the target language will be evaluated against the following standards

Literary and/or cultural content literacy Evaluation of the overall understanding, interest, and cultural literacy of the literature and cultural content of Korea and the target language group. 40 points
Diligence and ability to cooperate Evaluation of the willingness and intent to consistently participate in the program 30 points

Results

  • Candidates will be selected based on the average score of all evaluators
  • Applicants with a score below 70 will be disqualified.

Final selection of successful candidates

  • The final successful candidates will be determined after the interview process. However, if the priority candidates for registration decline, the next ranked candidates may be selected as the final successful candidates.
  • The list of successful candidates is valid for 14 days from its announcement.
